Six Synthetic Planets

A group of coordinated computers guides the audience through interaction and improvisation into an imaginative journey to six alien planets, each one characterized by a different natural element. The audience will find itself thrown into water or completely immersed in light, in a visual/audio experience that explores the nature of sound. The performance will be introduced by the Milanese duo T.e.s.o., composed by Matteo Castiglioni e Jacopo Biffi.

An experimental vocal concert on women topics and contexts, based on Italian traditional music: lullabies, wedding songs, funeral weepings, work songs. After a solo voice, the second part of the concert is an original tribute to the legendary Sicilian singer Rosa Balistreri, accompanied by an accordion.

A video-installation between graphic video and documentary, on visual and sound dimensions, conceived as a music score, with no actors and no dialogues. The wild nature is the main character, counterposed to human presence. The Earth is a Great Mother, a symbol where fertility and death get together. Ancestral feelings melt gratitude to the mother and fear for her devastating powers.

Three actors tell and create their ideas of grandmothers through scattered memories. The audience get involved, taking part in different ways at the storytelling of three grandmothers. Wave-like, as memories are as well, forgetting, modifying, creating, reconnecting to reality and how it is perceived.

Pat Moonchy makes a special pre-premiere of her new album Moon in June within Alma Mater. The voice digs in the roots of the noisy nature of sound and explores its feminine part. An ancient, primordial song in an incantatory itinerary of the magnetic sounds by Lucio Liguori (guitar and gong) and Roberto Aglieri (flute and electronic device).

A dialogue between music and poetry in remembrance of a mother. A musical improvisation in real time with old analog syhthesizers by Riccardo Sinigaglia interwines with the reading of poems from L’Ordine della Madre by Luigi Cannillo, expressing the mourning and feelings of a son who has to retrace and comprehend all of a sudden. With no sentimentalism, words guide the audience through an inner path, while music reestablishes a balance among gut, heart and mind.
